Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of BatchProof, a Shopify app operated by the party contactable at batchproof@fintizan.com ("we", "us"). By installing the app you agree to them. If you are installing on behalf of a company, you confirm you are authorised to do so.
What the app does
BatchProof records inventory lots and expiry dates you enter, allocates lots to incoming orders on a first-expiring-first-out basis, and lets you look up which orders and customers received a given lot. It is a record-keeping and traceability tool.
BatchProof is not a substitute for your own food-safety, quality, or regulatory programme. It does not certify compliance with FSMA, GFSI schemes, or any other standard, and it does not conduct recalls. Responsibility for the accuracy of your lot data, and for any recall decision, remains entirely yours.
Accuracy of your data
The app's output is only as good as what you put in. Lot numbers, expiry dates, and quantities are entered by you. Allocation of lots to orders is automatic and based on those entries. We do not verify them against physical stock, and we cannot detect a lot recorded with the wrong expiry date or quantity. Verify your records before relying on them in an audit or a recall.
Plans and billing
- Shops holding 50 lots or fewer may use the app at no charge.
- Paid plans are billed monthly through Shopify's billing system, at the prices shown in the app and on our site.
- Each shop is eligible for one free trial, once. Switching or resubscribing to a plan does not grant a further trial.
- Prices may change. We will give notice before a change affects an existing subscription, and you may cancel rather than accept it.
- Charges are collected by Shopify and are subject to Shopify's own billing terms. Cancel at any time by uninstalling the app or cancelling the subscription in your Shopify admin; access continues to the end of the paid period.
- We do not offer prorated refunds for partial months, except where required by law.
Acceptable use
Do not use the app to store unlawful content, attempt to access another merchant's data, probe or overload the service, or resell access to it. We may suspend an account that does any of these, and will tell you why.
Availability
We aim to keep the app available and correct, but we do not offer a guaranteed uptime commitment. The service may be unavailable during maintenance, or because of failures at Shopify or at our hosting and database providers. We may change or discontinue features; if we discontinue the app entirely, we will give reasonable notice so you can export your records.
Your data
Your data remains yours. We store and process it only to operate the app, as described in our Privacy Policy. You can export your recall records as CSV from within the app at any time, and we encourage you to do so before uninstalling — uninstalling triggers deletion, on the schedule set out in that policy.
Warranties and liability
The app is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind to the fullest extent permitted by law, including any implied warranty of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential losses, nor for lost profits, lost sales, or the cost of a recall. Our total liability arising out of or relating to the app is limited to the amount you paid us for it in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim.
Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
Termination
You may stop using the app at any time by uninstalling it. We may terminate or suspend access if you materially breach these terms, or if we discontinue the service. The provisions on data, liability, and warranties survive termination.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. Material changes will be notified by email or in the app before they take effect. Continuing to use the app after that constitutes acceptance.
